GE VMIVME-7452 is a 6U VMEbus passive storage carrier board originally manufactured by VMIC (GE). It is a non-processing carrier board, equipped with drive bays for 3.5-inch floppy disk and 2.5-inch IDE hard disk, supporting optional flash storage upgrade for VME single board computer systems.
This board connects to VME backplane via P1/P2 connectors, and works cooperatively with VMIC VME SBCs to provide local persistent storage. It stores embedded operating systems, control firmware and historical process data. It is an obsolete legacy hardware, only available as surplus or refurbished spare parts for legacy VME embedded control racks.
